Rolf Luft Award – the world’s most prestigious award in diabetology and endocrinology
The Rolf Luft Award is awarded annually, initially by the Karolinska Institute, and since 2005 by the Rolf Luft Foundation for Diabetes Research to an outstanding researcher active in endocrinology, metabolism and diabetes research. The award consists of a medal, diploma and prize money.
The award committee includes former award winners as well as the board at the Rolf Luft Foundation for Diabetes Research. The Rolf Luft Award (Rolf Luft’s prize) is given for outstanding efforts in research and education in line with the foundation’s aim to support future research and education in diabetes and endocrinology.
The Rolf Luft Award is of a professional nature and is intended to support ongoing or future research or education in the field of diabetes and endocrinology or the like and shall add value to healthcare. The invitation for nomination is sent to all leading universities in the world.
Since 2000, Karolinska Institutet has been contributing, via a fund, to a medal, diploma and expenses in connection with the invitation of the prize winner and the prize lecture. Since 2005, the Rolf Luft Foundation has contributed with the selection of prize winners and prize money and also it has arranged the prize ceremony and the prize lecture.

Instructions for nomination
To nominate a candidate for the Rolf Luft Award, please follow these instructions:
The nomination must be compiled in pdf format and include the following: a short CV (max. 5 pages without reference list); a list of the nominee’s 10 most important publications; and a brief description of the nominee’s contribution to science and health (no more than one page or 500 words). In addition, the nomination should include an additional pdf file with a full CV containing a complete list of all publications.
